Five Best Ways to Get Involved with OANZ Right Now

Regenerating the world through organics.

There has never been a more critical time to be part of the OANZ community.

As the national voice of the organic sector in Aotearoa, we provide leadership for the sector to collaboratively work towards sector growth and policies that are good for the health of our people, communities, environment and economy.

Organics is a well researched and proven path to a cleaner environment, the greening of our economy, not to mention a healthier society. We want you to be part of the journey.

When you join us as a member, you are joining farmers, retailers, exporters, manufacturers, non-profit organisations, and individuals committed to regenerating the world through organics - nourishing the health of the planet and our people.

Central to our mission is organic ecosystem support, advocacy and sector growth. OANZ is a non-profit, largely voluntary organisation. We rely upon membership and donations to fund the organisation; our work is impossible without you.

Now is the time to your seat at the organic table and help us drive forward the growth of the organic sector in Aotearoa. Here are 5 ways our members can get involved with OANZ and help us make the world more regenerative through organics.

  1. It’s time for change! Join an organic strategy action group today.

OANZ is currently facilitating 7 action groups. Their focus is on moving the organic sector forward, from creating an organic farmer extension programme to supporting the development and implementation of the Organic Products Bill or increasing consumer recognition of 'brand organic' in New Zealand. Read more here and get in touch if you have a passion for organics and can help our groups from a strategic perspective. Email Tiff for more info on joining an action group.

  2. Use your voice. Take your seat at the organic table.

Sector members can appoint two representatives to join the OANZ Council (including voting rights). The Council meets twice a year and is an excellent opportunity to learn about the issues and opportunities in the organic sector and use your voice for good. It is also the place where we set the strategy for OANZ. We welcome your involvement and ideas on how we can make the world more regenerative through organics. Join the next OANZ Council meeting.

  3. Opportunities for growth and learning. Access exclusive member-only content.

OANZ members receive access to exclusive content (via the member-only section on the OANZ website). Including the AGM Speaker Series sessions with MP Barbara Kuriger, MPI's Shona Scott and Yen Le, and Charles Merfield's presentation on the development and popularity of regenerative agriculture in relation to organic. This exclusive content provides members with an opportunity for growth and learning. Go to Members Portal (Request a password).

  4. Be part of the organic community. Join us for member-only events.

OANZ facilitates a wide variety of member-only events, from topical webinars, online presentations and discussions to face to face networking events. Being part of the OANZ organic membership community ensures invitations to these highly regarded events and an opportunity to network within the organic sector. Sign up for member updates here.

  5. Reach an organic audience. Let us shout loudly about your business or organisation.

Profile your business or organisation by signing up for an OANZ interview or case study to be featured on the OANZ website, newsletter and social media channels. This is an excellent opportunity to share your story as part of New Zealand's organic story. Contact Lou, OANZ Comms Manager, for more info.
