Our Purpose

Organics Aotearoa is the national body of the Organic Sector.

Our purpose is to grow the Organic Sector, protect the integrity of organics, and amplify our members’ voices through leadership and support for projects and policies that are good for Aotearoa.

We bring together a diverse network to enable system change in food, farming and climate change on a national level.

Established in 2006, we are a non-profit organisation, a business network, a community and a movement. We are farmers, producers, traders, exporters and consumers and together, we created the 2022-25 Sector Strategy to make change a reality.

Our vision is to regenerate Aotearoa New Zealand through organics, nourishing the health of our people, communities, environment and planet.

Our mission is to accelerate the transition to regenerative organic food and farming systems. To support, advocate and grow the Organic Sector in Aotearoa, New Zealand; empowering our members to thrive through the greatest challenges and opportunities of our time.

We believe that growth in the sector is better growth for Aotearoa's environment, economy and the health of all New Zealanders. We do this through advocacy, collaboration and ecosystem support.

Advocacy → Engage and consult with Government and key policymakers to protect and promote the interests of the Organic Sector.

Ecosystem Support → Empower the Organic Sector to thrive through our time's most significant challenges and opportunities and ultimately inspire the next generation of regenerative organic farmers.

Collaboration → We are pooling collective knowledge and resources to unlock efficiencies that will enable producers, communities and the environment to thrive.

However, to be successful, we need your support.

As a non-profit, largely voluntary organisation, we rely upon membership, grants and donations to fund our work. We aim to create a sustainable funding model to ensure the continuation of our work and key projects. So take action today, and together, we can grow.
