Why These Meetings Matter
The Organic Products and Production Act 2023 sets the framework for regulating organic claims in New Zealand. To fund this system, MPI has proposed a cost recovery model that includes fees for certification and levies to support sector-wide services.
This consultation will define:
How organic compliance services are paid for
The shape of export support under the new regime
What’s fair, workable, and sustainable for organic businesses
OANZ is leading a joint sector submission, and your insights will directly shape it.
What to Do Before Each Meeting
Come prepared to ask questions or offer feedback specific to your part of the sector.
Submission Deadline: 13 July 2025
OANZ is committed to fuelling a transparent, sector-led process. These sessions provide an opportunity for you to stay informed and influence the implementation of cost recovery in the organic sector.
