[WEBINAR] READING BETWEEN THE BILLS: OANZ’s POSITION ON THE HSNO AND ACVM ACTS.
READING BETWEEN THE BILLS: OANZ’s POSITION ON THE HSNO AND ACVM ACTS.
Three bills are moving through Parliament right now, and their implications stretch well beyond the organic sector.
Join us next Wednesday evening as we outline OANZ's submission on both the HSNO and ACVM Amendment Bills and how they connect to the Gene Tech Bill. Join OANZ board member Scott Lawson, scientist Professor Jack Heinemann, and regulatory expert Marie Doole as they present our analysis of the HSNO and ACVM Amendment Bills and what it could mean for organic and non-GMO producers and consumers.
We'll share OANZ’s position, our submission findings, and a submission guide so our members and stakeholders can take action by making their own submission before the 15 June deadline. We’ll leave you informed and ready to act.
Hosted by Brendan Hoare. All welcome.
This Goes Beyond Organic, and We Need to Act Fast
Parliament isn't waiting, so neither are we. We are working with experts to dig into both the HSNO and ACVM Amendment Bills, and we believe these two pieces of legislation are integrated with the Gene Technology Bill.
This isn't just an organic sector issue. Implications will extend across primary industries, health, and the environment, and most of the people affected don't yet know what's coming.
We need to fund more expert legal and policy analysis, stay informed and ensure the people who will be impacted actually hear about it in time to act.
