We are Recruiting. Join the OANZ Board.
WE ARE RECRUITING NEW BOARD MEMBERS. ARE YOU THE LEADER THE ORGANIC SECTOR NEEDS RIGHT NOW?
OANZ is looking to co-opt up to two new board directors, and we want to hear from you.
The organic sector is entering an exciting period, with the Organic Products and Production Act now in force, new regulations taking shape, and a dedicated Associate Minister for Organics in place. This is a real opportunity to help shape what that means for our members and the wider sector.
What's involved
Co-opted directors will serve until the 2026 Annual General Meeting in September, with full voting rights from day one. If you'd like to continue on the board beyond that, we invite you to stand for formal election at the AGM in September.
Being a board member is a voluntary commitment with monthly board meetings (via Zoom), two annual council meetings (via Zoom), and the occasional subcommittee or action group meeting.
Who we're looking for
We welcome nominations from people with a wide range of skills and backgrounds, whether that's policy, science, communications, fundraising, law, finance, governance, farming, or anything else that strengthens our board. You'll sit alongside experienced board colleagues, working directly with government, certifiers, and the organisations driving organic growth across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The organic sector doesn't need more spectators right now. It needs leaders willing to govern. If that's you, we want to hear from you.
How to apply
Nominations close Monday 27th July 2026. See the attached nomination form for full details, and email your completed form and a short profile to Lou Vicente at comms@oanz.org.
If you're proactive, committed to the organic sector's growth, and keen to help OANZ flourish at this pivotal moment, we'd love to hear from you.
