Rodale Institute has teamed up with Pennsylvania Association of Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) for a citizen-science project to identify soil health benchmarks that will assist in designing proper management practices (e.g. tillage intensity, nutrient inputs, cover crops, etc.) to maintain and improve soil health and the continued productivity of organic farms. This “Soil Health Benchmark Study” involves more than 60-row crop, vegetable, and pastured livestock farms across PA.
