making the organic transition

Making the transition from chemical-based to biology- and ecology-based farming and growing is not something that can happen overnight, or even in one or two years.

Gaining organic certification usually takes a minimum of three years, and sometimes as much as five. However, once the changes are made and the farmer has gained skills and confidence in working with natural systems, and has re-designed the farm and its operation accordingly, things get a lot easier – and more profitable.

Lower input costs and higher returns on products mean that the farm's bottom line improves.
